It broke my car battery?

When you turn on the engine of your car is no longer, or is so slow, it is likely that the battery is discharged. If the reason for the low battery, that you forget to turn off the lights, it's just a matter of connecting a car charger with a dead battery to recharge. It is rather problematic, if you have no obvious reason for the battery.

Often the reason a flat battery for no apparent reason, or the battery is defective or that it is not alwayscharged by the alternator. It may be that the generator has a fault, or it may be that the belt decreases generator.

A simple way to ensure that the generator is the car to start the engine and turn on the lights will be charged (This works best if there is, at least) a little 'dark. With the engine ticking over tickover at normal speed, note the number (wall, etc.) on which use lights. If the generator of successrecharging the battery, the lights still get a little 'brighter by pressing the accelerator and the increase in speed. If the brightness does not change, it is likely that the generator is not actually charging the battery.

Another reason why the battery is dead, who has reached the end of its useful life. Usually the batteries will last about three to five years, depending on their cycle of loading and unloading, and also on maintenance. Doing mainly shortTrips, the battery will spend most of their time in less than a full charge, and this is the effect that the battery does not last for the same time are loaded as a long journey and always complete.

With a multimeter to measure voltage, you can test the battery voltage in September Connect the red wire color proof multimeter to the positive terminal of the battery and then insert the black wire to the negative terminal of the test battery. When the engine is off, the voltage is usually around 12,5-12,8 volts. After starting the engine to idle the voltage should be about 13,6-14,3 volts. If the voltage does not increase, this could mean that the alternator is faulty.

Starting problems may also occur due to loose battery connections. Make sure the connectors are firmly connected to the battery terminals. Another reason for the start of the corrosion problem is always between the battery terminals andBattery terminals. If signs of corrosion must be removed and cleaned (Make sure the engine is turned off before the battery) connections.
